Software

PaCIM

The open platform for integrated passenger information in bus,
ship and rail transport.

For public transport companies, the smooth flow of passenger information is crucial: Passengers should be informed in real time about possible deviations from the timetable and the next connections. At the same time, planners and dispatchers at the service point must be informed about the current operating status and need access to user-friendly applications. PaCIM from Luminator offers just this - and much more.

As a modular solution, PaCIM is open for all interfaces and data formats. Existing systems such as operations control systems (AVL/ITCS) and partner systems can be integrated. And this beyond the borders of the regional transport association. Our system uses the existing target data (e.g. timetables) and the current actual data (e.g. position data of individual vehicles), processes them (e.g. as forecasts) and makes them available to the parties involved in a transparent manner.

In this way everyone gets the information they need: Your employees at their PCs and mobile devices, your passengers via display or public address systems. PaCIM consists of the following modules, which can be adapted to your existing network or Active Directory structure.

Modules

ITCS

ITCS (Light-Version) for save connections

ITCS Light is open for all interfaces and data formats.

It supports data exchange with other ITCS/RBL systems and data pools of neighbouring transport associations as well as nationwide data hubs. The necessary standard interfaces and services according to VDV standard as well as railway interfaces are included in ITCS Light. All relevant data such as timetables and real-time information flows into the system, is processed and is available for further use.

Forecasts are calculated using timetable data, distances between stops and the route. This is done in the vehicle with the help of Multi Application Driver Terminals, so-called MADTs (e.g. tablets). The tablet records the current trip data based on GPS information, calculates the new arrival time and sends it to the central system. From there, this information is passed on to the stationary displays together with other content (e.g. maps, pictures, graphics, infotainment content). In addition, this information is suitable for quality assurance purposes at the task carrier. And, of course, your employees at the control centre always know about the current operating status and can intervene at any time: User-friendly PC tools make it easier for them to call up and update information and to enter changes. Luminator wants to make your daily work as easy as possible - and the decision for ITCS "Light".

INF

Passenger Information Rail

Real-time information and current operating status: PaCIM INF provides both.

Up-to-date, comprehensive information management is also an important success factor in rail transport. After all, train passengers are also attaching increasing importance to real-time information. And the train service management must be informed about the current operating status at all times. An integrated system such as PaCIM from Luminator covers both. Within this platform, PaCIM INF is the building block for stationary passenger information in the rail sector.

The module was developed to inform passengers on platforms and stations as efficiently as possible. PaCIM INF makes it easy: The user interface provides many practical functions and overviews that can be individually adapted. All trains, together with the associated announcements and displays, are shown in the area, station or track overviews. Detailed information can be called up for each indicator, announcement device or train.

In addition to I&C-controlled interfaces, GPS-based information can also be used to determine the forecast. With the "Daily Timetable" module you have an overview of the current situation at the stations in order to change automatically generated actions such as arrival and departure times or track changes if required. The existing or calculated information is directly forwarded to the connected systems, the displays are updated accordingly and suitable announcements are initiated if required.

DPI

Stationary Dynamic Passenger Information System

Plan, automate, monitor: The software module for dynamic passenger information.

PaCIM DPI provides the link between your control centre and the displays or announcement devices at bus or tram stops. It obtains the travel information from a central system (ITCS, AVL, info backbone), processes it according to your desired layout specifications and sends it to the stationary displays. Status information and error messages from all connected devices are also received - monitoring your stationary displays is therefore very easy.

In addition to extensive design options and announcement rules, the module also offers functions for process control and logging. Feedback options and alarm messages are also available. Data transmission is fully automatic via a variety of protocols (e.g. VDV 453 DFI, SIRI, GTFS or Web Services). Messages and display changes are managed according to the stored schedules and forwarded to the displays or announcement devices via the device- and function-specific protocol adapters. Another module allows you to make live announcements to displays or display groups.

PaCIM DPI also serves as a protocol adapter for the respective information display or announcement devices - regardless of whether Luminator or third-party displays are connected. The status of each terminal device is checked at cyclic intervals. Read-aloud functions based on TTS are also possible - the flexible handling of the filler words gives you a lot of freedom in text design. All this makes PaCIM DPI the perfect link to your stationary devices.

DMC

Stationary Contentmanagementsystem

The CMS to display departure information, advertising and infotainment simultaneously.

Which stationary display shows what, when and how long? PaCIM DMC makes it easy for you to manage and display different content on your stationary display systems on a time-based basis. And this is independent of the display technology used. Whether arrival or departure times, infotainment content, advertising or current information: the desired content mix can be provided with playback times on the PC and assigned to the respective display.

A desired time range is defined for each file sequence (playlist). For example, Sunday between 08:00 and 12:00. After defining the playlist, the contents are sent to the display (synchronization). Each display has a network folder where the files are stored, the playlists are transmitted independently of this via a special TCP/IP port.

After synchronization, the display works autonomously and you can close PaCIM DMC. DMC is modular and consists of two applications: "DMC Client", the tool to define and configure individual "jobs" for the displays. And "DMC Server", the module that interprets and controls the content for the respective hardware technology.

DDMS

Datahub for Public Transport Data

Flexible, reliable, efficient: Data management from Luminator.

Different VDV/SIRI services are used for the exchange of traffic data in the railway and public transport sector. For data exchange, operators need a system that offers them uncomplicated data management, flexibility, reliability and availability. PaCIM DDMS has been developed to handle this exchange efficiently. It integrates the necessary services and serves as a gateway for the different dialects. Be it within the PaCIM platform or with external systems.

Furthermore, traffic data can be pre-concentrated for transmission to nationwide data hubs. Our system meets all your data management requirements and supports a wide range of configurations from single servers to highly available clusters. The multi-client capability is already included in the design of the system: Each data supplier or subscriber can only view and subscribe to the data for which they are authorized.

PaCIM DDMS can also be used to adapt different versions of the interfaces or to convert interfaces. If necessary, the interfaces are adapted by plug-ins in the data hub, there is no need to change the existing systems. Once set up, DDMS runs by itself.
